Demolition in Plantation
Most of Plantation Acres, between Hiatus Road and Flamingo Road, is laid out in lots of an acre or more. A lot that size can hold a house, a guest house, a pool and outbuildings, and every one of them belongs on the survey before a demolition is priced.
Plantation bundles trades into a demolition. The city's guidance says a demolition permit must include building and electrical permits, plus fire alarm, fire sprinkler and gas permits where those systems exist. The application also has to carry complete contact details for both the owner and the contractor. Confirm the current list with the Building Department before filing.
The Plantation Acres Improvement District lies between Hiatus Road and Flamingo Road, and between the North New River Canal and NW 28th Court, so drainage swales and canal banks along a lot's edge belong in the site plan. A machine track across a swale is a repair bill that nobody budgeted.
We walk the whole parcel before quoting. On a large lot, the outbuilding nobody mentioned is the usual surprise, and it is cheaper to find before the contract than after.

Questions
Demolition in Plantation
Why does a Plantation demolition permit need an electrical permit?
Because the city requires it. Plantation's demolition permits must include building and electrical permits, with fire alarm, fire sprinkler and gas permits added where those systems exist. A licensed electrician makes the service safe and permits the disconnect; we coordinate that trade inside the demolition schedule.
What does a demolition cost?
Every job is quoted from a site visit, or from photos and drawings when that is enough to see the scope. The number depends on what the building is made of, its size and height, what the asbestos survey finds, which utilities must be disconnected, access for equipment, how close the neighbors are, what stays and what goes, and where the debris is hauled. We do not publish prices, because two jobs that look alike rarely are.
What happens with asbestos before demolition?
The building is surveyed first by an independent licensed consultant, because federal rules require a thorough asbestos inspection before a regulated demolition and the county's notice depends on it. If the survey finds asbestos that the work will disturb, a licensed abatement firm removes it. Romco coordinates both; we are not an abatement contractor.
How long does a demolition take?
We do not quote durations before the facts are in. The schedule depends on permit review in your city, how quickly the utility disconnect letters arrive, what the asbestos survey finds and any notice period that follows, association approvals, and the size and construction of the building. Once those are known, we give you a sequence with the dependencies named.
